Emergent Technologies currently seeking an experienced, dynamic, and talented Senior CSFC Solutions Architect.
The Senior CSFC Solutions Architect at Emergent Technologies is an experienced architect with expertise in creating and implementing CSFC solutions utilizing all of the capabilities packages. You have an understanding of the technology necessary to solve a variety of operational challenges and successfully architect, install, and accredit CSFC solutions for government customers.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
SUMMARY:
The Senior CSFC Solutions Architect will provide technical oversight and hands-on project completion
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Layer 2 and 3 expertise as part of a senior technical team.
- Author-written network Engineering Design Packages including detailed implementation project plans and procedures.
- Integrate Ethernet technology into new and existing systems, including Ethernet over SONET (PoS), Copper Ethernet, and Ethernet over Fiber for Inside Plant, Outside Plant, and our Data Center.
- Manage contractors and vendors during the implementation phase.
- Collaborate with other operations departments to design approved infrastructure.
- Provide technical and costing expertise to sales engineering teams during complex network developments.
- Serve as the escalation contact during large outages for Layer 2 and 3 systems.
- Identify and recommend hardware and support solutions based on research and analysis of new technologies, interfacing with vendors during the implementation phase.
- Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to the company.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills
- Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience working with Cisco XR IOS-based platforms in a service provider environment.
- Experience with Carrier Ethernet design/deployment focused on MEF compliant architectures.
- Advanced knowledge of Ethernet-related to all protocols and variants, to a packet, debug level.
- Experience with equipment and vendors such as Adtran NetVanta, Ciena CES, Cyan Z-Series (now Ciena), Lucent 7000 switches, Telco Systems, Accedian, Cisco ME switches, and Fujitsu Flashwave.
- Understanding of large Internet service networks with full and partial table IPv4 and IPv6 peers.
- Skilled with a variety of TCP/UDP protocols including an understanding of SIP/MGCP/RTP/SDP at the packet level.
- Experience architecting large networks and supporting system design as either the lead engineer or as part of a team.
- Thorough knowledge of Engineering Design Package (EDP) creation and execution.
- Proven ability to manage contractors and vendors.
- Functional working knowledge of Linux/Unix OS variants.
